Hi Linda!

I use a Food Saver Mini that I've had for several years....I think it 
cost about $80 at the time at Kohls. You're right that the bags can 
be pricey, but I know a guy who processes a lot of deer, and he's 
found substitute bags that work great at a fraction of the Food Saver 
price. He sells them on eBay now, so if you need replacements let me 
know. Maybe I could give you a few to try to see if they work for 
you. I always do a double heat seal just for added insurance since 
sometimes you can get little hop particles that keep it from sealing 
completely.

My daughter is a junior and in the marching band, so we typically 
come for football games (nothing like a homebrewer at a tailgate, 
right?), but trying to do both on the same day might be a little 
difficult to get my wife to sign off on! However, we do occasionally 
make weekend junkets after football season is over, so I'll try to 
keep you up-to-date on our plans.

IThanks for the invite....I always enjoy meeting up with other clubs. 
And, if any of you ever find yourself in mid-Michigan (Lansing area), 
let me know. I'd love to treat you to a few Michigan beers!
