Enter beers, ciders, perries, meads --- AND/OR attend as a judge or steward!

Mike Pelter is competition organizer for the 18th annual Chicago Cup
Challenge hosted by Brewers of South Suburbia -- BOSS . Rick and I went
up there last year, just for the day. VERY nice competition, well run
and cute venue, great food provided for lunch. The town of Blue Island
IL is pretty do-able as a day trip, even for beer judging. Mike's also
a professor of Chemistry at PU-Calumet. His wife Libbie is a chemist
who's recently been commuting to Purdue weekly for a collaboration on a
CHE project with Jim Caruthors.

IMPORTANT COOL NOTE:
Libbie has offered to transport entries from here to there. That kind
of thing makes entering way so much easier. I'm planning to enter a few
things.

If anyone else is interested, let's get our stuff together and I'll get
it to her. My house is practically on her way back to Schererville or
wherever it is they live, somewhere near there.

Entries are due between March 9 and March 21 -- I will be figuring to
send things with Libbie closer to the 21st .

Online registration at http://home.comcast.net/~bossbeercomp/

There seems to be no online registration for judges. Their info
document at
http://www.bossbeer.org/CompetitionInfo/BOSS%20Comp%20Info%202009.pdf
indicates that judges and stewards should contact the competition staff
at BOSSBeerComp at gmail.com

I'm sure they would love to have some judges come up, including people
interested in being a judge for the first time. (No study or testing
necessary -- you get put together with one or two more experienced
judges. It works, trust me.)

Judges and stewards are allowed to bring their entries with them as long
as they've been registered.

Let me know.
