[THC] Homebrew club mtg Wed night at the Black Sparrow! Need HEADCOUNT :-)

It's in two days. Wed June 25, 6 - 9 pm.

I have just started a list based on the people who've written at the
forum that they'll be there, and I do not remember exactly which people
have told me verbally that they'll be there. Tell me again, in email,
if you're one of those (Keith and Janet? Alan?)

Would you please send me a reply asap before Wed eve -- off list would
be fine with me (swihart at purdue.edu) and on-list would probably be OK as
well. Maybe the other people on the list want to know who'll be there, eh?

Put Black Sparrow in the message header (can just reply to this message)
and I will make sure not to miss it.

We need to know how many people we are making space for. So far I'm
pretty sure we've got Lloyd, Nancy, me, maybe Rick, Sean, and Vic. I
*know* there are others and I'm sorry I'm forgetting. I'm old, getting
senile.... We won't need more than five or six people to have a great
little meeting, but brewers and people interested in brewing are very
welcome. BRING HOMEBREW IF YA GOT IT. No commercial beers, please, and
no food of course! And we believe that everybody will like the Black
Sparrow and buy some beer and food there Wednesday and/or other times!
And I promised Paul he could have tastes of the homebrew too even though
he's not a brewer. :-)

We will not share homebrew with the other Black Sparrow customers, BTW,
as much fun as that kind of sounds like. It also sounds problematic.
Paul could allow that kind of thing, but it's not what we asked him. We
will have our meeting, call it "members and guests" or something like
that, keep our bottles of homebrew in our section and resist the
temptation to invite/serve other Black Sparrow patrons who might express
interest.

Ah, right, no kegs either. That was my idea and I just thought it might
seem frightening or just too over the top if we started bringing in
Corny kegs the first time. :-)

It'll be a bit different than the social meetings and brew days at
people's homes; this will be more of a "business and education
meeting." With beer, which always makes a meeting a much more pleasant
place to be.

------------

What a conference! Nancy and Lloyd and I have a few things to tell you
about the Cincinnati NHC we just got back from, and I am hoping to come
up with a short round of "Name That Beer," but I have to talk to Paul
about it first. (Paul Baldwin, owner of Black Sparrow and a very nice,
fun, and community-minded fellow.)

I will leave the house in a few minutes and most likely be out of email
contact until Wednesday at noon. But I'll get your messages at that
time, first thing.

Soooo -- who's coming to the Black Sparrow? Even if you can't get there
at 6, let me know about what time you can.

Linda
